Dr Louise Fletcher
A WordPress improvement project for Dr Louise Fletcher, combining content refinement, technical SEO, analytics setup and ongoing care plan support.

Project overview
This project began when Dr Louise Fletcher reached out for help improving her website. She already had an existing WordPress site in place, but needed support with practical content changes, a clearer structure and expert guidance on issues that were less visible from the front end.
After our initial discovery call, the project developed into a broader website improvement engagement focused on usability, trust, search visibility and technical stability. Alongside adding and refining content, the work also included technical SEO improvements, analytics setup, plugin and infrastructure checks and a clearer plan for future growth.
What started as a one-off website improvement project became an ongoing working relationship. Following the initial phase, Dr Louise chose to continue with my WordPress care plan so I could support the site long term with quarterly reporting, ongoing updates and regular security oversight. This kind of project is most closely aligned with WordPress support, technical SEO and ongoing care plans.
The challenge
The website already represented an established counselling practice, but it needed stronger structure, clearer messaging and better technical foundations. Dr Louise also wanted support beyond simple page edits, because there were likely issues on the site that were not immediately obvious to a non-technical business owner.
The website needed page additions, content removals and a better-organised navigation flow to make the user journey clearer.
The site needed stronger calls to action, better use of testimonials and clearer guidance for potential clients considering booking.
There were opportunities to improve metadata, sitemap quality, indexing behaviour, analytics setup and overall visibility in search.
The project also uncovered wider infrastructure concerns, including hosting confusion, domain redirect opportunities and invalid SPF configuration that could affect email reliability.
What was delivered
After reviewing the site and discussing Dr Louise’s goals, I created a tailored plan covering content improvements, FAQ implementation, technical SEO work, conversion enhancements and longer-term authority building through resources and blog content. Once the scope was approved, I moved into implementation and technical review.
I reviewed the site structure and recommended new service and resource pages, content cleanup and clearer navigation.
I proposed a structured FAQ approach to support both user clarity and SEO, including discussion around page-level FAQs and a standalone FAQ section.
I carried out keyword research and wrote optimised meta titles and descriptions for the main pages to improve search appearance and attract more relevant traffic.
I created a staging version of the website locally so updates could be tested safely before being pushed live.
I started Google Analytics and Google Search Console from scratch and corrected sitemap and indexing settings to give the site a more reliable SEO foundation.
I reviewed plugin updates, highlighted GDPR-related improvements, checked mail delivery improvements and identified DNS and hosting issues that needed to be resolved.
Core improvements included
Support with adding pages, removing outdated content and improving the overall flow of the site.
A more structured FAQ approach designed to answer common client concerns and reduce friction.
Search-led page titles and descriptions tailored to relevant counselling and therapy terms.
New reporting foundations created from scratch to enable better visibility into traffic and performance.
Important indexing adjustments to ensure only the right pages were exposed to search engines.
Safe update testing with attention to compliance, compatibility and email reliability improvements.
Additional owned domains were identified and reviewed for redirect opportunities back to the main website.
The project also uncovered unused legacy hosting and configuration issues that could have continued to cost money or cause confusion.
From one-off project to ongoing care plan
One of the strongest outcomes from this project was not just the website improvement itself, but the trust that developed through the process. Dr Louise initially came in needing help with changes she did not feel confident making herself, but the engagement quickly showed the value of having an experienced WordPress developer review both the visible and hidden parts of the site.
Because the work covered far more than design tweaks, including SEO, analytics, updates, site health and technical oversight, the relationship naturally extended beyond the first phase. After the initial project work, Dr Louise agreed to continue on my WordPress care plan so I could keep supporting the site with ongoing maintenance and reporting.
Under that ongoing arrangement, I provide quarterly reporting focused on conversions and website performance, together with plugin, core and theme updates and regular security checks. This gives the client continuity, peace of mind and a clear long-term partner rather than a one-off technical fix.
Results and outcomes
This project helped transform the website from a site that needed ad-hoc changes into one with a clearer plan, stronger foundations and an ongoing support structure. Instead of only reacting to small edits, Dr Louise now has a more strategic setup that supports visibility, user trust and long-term site stability.
The work also demonstrated the value of looking beyond the front end. By reviewing analytics, indexing, infrastructure, redirects, plugin health and email-related DNS issues, I was able to support the business more holistically and reduce the risk of hidden technical problems being left unresolved.
The website direction became more focused around clearer pages, stronger messaging and a better content structure.
Metadata, sitemap and indexing improvements created a stronger base for long-term search visibility.
Fresh analytics and search console setup created a stronger basis for measuring visibility and future conversions.
Plugin review, SPF issue identification and hosting checks helped surface and reduce hidden technical problems.
Dr Louise moved from uncertainty about what needed changing to having a clearer plan and trusted technical support.
The initial project led to a continuing WordPress care plan relationship built around quarterly reporting, updates and security support.
Technology used
This project was delivered on top of an existing WordPress website and included work across content structure, technical SEO, analytics, plugin maintenance, indexing controls, domain management and general website infrastructure. It also involved coordination across tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, DNS and registrar settings, hosting review and Cloudflare-related access.
This work is especially relevant to WordPress support, SEO optimisation and care plans for service businesses that need both visibility improvements and ongoing technical oversight.
Next steps
The project has already moved beyond its initial delivery phase and into ongoing support, which is often where the biggest value is created. Rather than leaving the site untouched after launch improvements, the care plan ensures it continues to evolve safely and strategically over time.
For clients in a similar position, the most valuable next step is usually not just a redesign or a few edits, but a proper support structure that combines technical maintenance, visibility improvements and performance reporting. That is where WordPress care plans and ongoing WordPress support make the biggest difference.
