Roger
A long-term WordPress engagement focused on improving mobile UX, navigation, and overall usability for an online gaming platform through continuous, high-impact refinements.

Project overview
Roger is an online gaming aggregation platform that brings together top-rated casino operators in one place, helping users compare offers, discover reviews and navigate operator content more easily.
The platform already had a solid base, but it needed ongoing refinement to improve usability, especially on mobile. The focus was not on a full rebuild, but on making the experience clearer, tighter and more conversion-focused through continuous improvements over time.
I worked with the team on a long-term WordPress engagement covering frontend updates, UX refinements and ongoing maintenance, helping the platform evolve in response to real user behaviour and client feedback.
The challenge
The main challenge was improving usability without disrupting an active platform. Mobile layouts, content hierarchy and internal navigation all needed refinement, while the site also had to remain flexible enough to support regular change requests and iterative improvements.
Spacing, hierarchy and layout were not always optimised across operator and game pages.
Key links and labels needed to better reflect user intent and improve discoverability.
Reviews, offers and operator pages needed stronger connections and clearer linking.
The platform had to support regular improvements without becoming unstable or difficult to maintain.
What was delivered
I worked as a WordPress developer across frontend improvements and structural refinements, focusing on practical changes that made the platform easier to use and easier to evolve. The work was delivered iteratively, with each improvement shaped by user behaviour, client feedback and the wider conversion goals of the site.
Updated menu structure and labels to better match user expectations and improve browsing flow.
Reduced excessive padding and margins across templates to create a tighter and more consistent experience.
Improved connections between reviews, offers and operator pages to support navigation and engagement.
Updated headings and labels based on the operator being viewed so pages felt more relevant and contextual.
Implemented a series of iterative changes based on feedback and real usage patterns.
Worked within an ongoing contract setup that allowed the platform to keep improving without sacrificing stability.
Core functionality included
Operator and game pages were refined to work more cleanly on smaller screens.
Layout adjustments made content easier to scan and navigate.
Menus and key links were improved to better support user journeys.
Offers, reviews and operator content were connected more effectively.
Dynamic headings and labels made pages feel more relevant to the operator being viewed.
The platform remained reliable while ongoing changes were delivered.
Smaller refinements were implemented continuously rather than through a single redesign.
The site could respond to changing requirements without major disruption.
Key architecture decisions
The important decision here was to treat the platform as something to optimise continuously rather than redesign completely. That allowed improvements to be made in a more targeted and lower-risk way, while preserving the existing foundation and reducing unnecessary disruption.
Much of the work focused on usability details such as spacing, linking and navigation logic, but those smaller changes had a meaningful impact on how easily people could move through the platform. This kind of refinement is often less visible than a redesign, but it plays a big role in long-term performance.
The platform was refined continuously instead of being rebuilt from scratch.
A lot of the work prioritised usability and consistency on smaller screens.
Better internal linking created clearer relationships between key content areas.
Changes were implemented in a way that kept the site stable and easy to evolve.
Results and outcomes
The changes were often subtle on their own, but together they created a noticeably smoother and more polished user experience. The platform became easier to navigate, more consistent on mobile and better structured for future iteration.
Users could move through operator and game pages with less friction.
Important areas such as offers and reviews became easier to find.
Users were guided more naturally between related sections of the platform.
The site became easier to maintain and improve over time.
The ongoing support model allowed continuous refinements without a major rebuild.
The platform felt tighter, clearer and more conversion-focused as a result of the combined changes.
Technology used
The work was delivered within an existing WordPress platform, with a focus on frontend refinement, mobile UX improvements, internal linking, dynamic content adjustments and ongoing maintenance.
Next steps
This project shows how continuous optimisation can create meaningful improvements without the cost and disruption of a full redesign. When usability, structure and maintenance are handled carefully, the result is a platform that performs better over time and stays easier to evolve.
